How knowing yourself and knowing others can add value to the workplace

Robertson Hyetts is proud to support the Bendigo Regional HR Network. At the most recent event Mette Hotker presented ‘How knowing yourself and knowing others can add value to the workplace’.

The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is based on the theory of Carl Jung who proposed each person has a psychological type which can be characterised using four functions – sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking – and that one of these four functions is dominant for a person most of the time.

MBTI is widely used in organisational settings where different psychological types are represented.  While diversity in the workplace is healthy and stimulating, it can also lead to tension, stress and misunderstandings. In this session, you will learn that by knowing and understanding your own and others’ types, individuals and the workplace can benefit from improved communication, more effective teams and greater staff engagement.

Mette Hotker is an accredited Myers-Briggs (MBTI) facilitator with over 15 years of experience working with individuals and teams.  Mette is currently completing a PhD at RMIT University and teaching in the field of social sciences.   Alongside this, Mette continues to share her MBTI knowledge and enjoys the fun and insights it brings to people and workplaces.
